The company

SD Mechatronik is one of the few companies worldwide which has specialised in the planning, construction and production of materials testing machines for dental research. 

Our customers benefit from this specialisation, above all through an enormous gain in time and know-how. For whilst previously prototypes were often developed at great expense by in-house engineers, today our customers save themselves time and money by delegating the majority of these tasks to our company.
We have comprehensive expertise in the areas of planning, construction and production of materials testing machines, with particular emphasis on:
 

•	Modern methods of construction with solid edge-, sample-, and series-production on our own CNC machines.
•	The design of electro-mechanical systems, e.g. of  step motor servos and linear motor drives
•	Software development with LabView, .NET and C as well as SPS programming
•	Opto-electronic systems and measuring technology
•	LED lighting technology for materials testing and quality assurance

The aim of this concentration of know-how is to produce the optimal testing machine for the respective assigned task: high-precision, reliable, robust, state-of-the-art from a technical viewpoint, and flexible due to standardisation, and just as simple as it is cheap to maintain.  
Against the background of this objective, in 2006 we took over the production and further development of the well-known Willytec devices.   

Customer satisfaction is of central importance to us. Therefore our machines are not only functional, but also especially easy to use - as a rule even without the documentation which is provided in all cases in a clear and easily understandable form. In addition, we follow a consistent "plug and operate" strategy so that users can, if they so wish, build and start operating our machines cheaply themselves. Since we have our own production resources and provide all services on an integrated basis, we implement our customers' wishes, such as for instance individual developments or modifications, quickly and cheaply.

The management:
Sebastian Duy, who has a degree in engineering from a university of applied sciences, studied medical technology in Munich and subsequently worked for several years in the development department of a well-known producer of medical diagnostic devices.
